The cement and stone within the material is porous and therefore it’s important to seal Terrazzo to prevent dirt and stains becoming ingrained in the material.
Before sealing Terrazzo tiles it should be deep cleaned first, otherwise dirt will be trapped under the sealer and it will never give the desired appearance. Once the floor is completely dry it should be sealed with an impregnating sealer as opposed to topical. This will protect the Terrazzo from liquid based spills and it also makes on-going maintenance easier.
